Chinese Celebrations

WALT:Follow an inquiry process.

This term as we have been learning about China we have continued building on the inquiry skills we learnt in Term 2. We brainstormed open questions as a class and then delegated these out to pairs. The part of China Luke Matt and I were finding out more about was Chinese celebrations. We found our information in books and on the internet. We used a data chart to make sure we triangulated all our information so we knew it was true. We then used Movie Maker to present our inquiry.Something I enjoyed was using the cameras to make the movie. An interesng fact I found out was there are alot of Chinese celebrations.next learning step is to work faster.

How are Cultures and Traditions Expressed through dance

a comic strip!

During Week 1 we had a variety of learning experiences to tune us into ideas about our new big question for this term -how are cultures and traditions expressed through dance? We had a performance from the Boys High pacifica group,a St peters pacifica group and a drumming workshop. I enjoyed drumming workshop the most because i like using the drums. Something new I learnt was how to play the drums in the drummig workshop.

WALT: Present the info I have learnt during my inquiry simply and clearly so that others can gain the most important information from my presentation.

This voicethread explains what I have learnt during my inquiry on the short tailed bat somthing I think I did really well during this inquiry process was skimming scanning key words to summarise the main ideas. Because I wrote it in my own words. Next time I do an inquiry somthing I could inprove on is write open questions to help me find interesting and useful new information. Because I can find more useful information. The part I liked best about doing an inquiry was making the map and doing the things on it because it was fun and exciting.

The short tailed bat

\walt:Use blabberise to share information on our inquiry learning.

I used blabberise to make this video. The information i used is what i have found out so far during my inquiry on the short tailed bat. An interesting fact i have
found out about the short tailed bat is the closest relatives of the short tailed bat are the fisherman bats. And echolocation lets bats see in the dark.
